BOISE, Idaho  - Boise State's volleyball team found out Sunday night that it will face the Lady Toppers of Western Kentucky, champions of Conference USA, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Broncos and Lady Toppers will play in the first match of the Stanford bracket Friday night at 5:30 p.m. (MT) in Maples Pavilion. This will be the first meeting ever between WKU and Boise State.

Boise State earned its first berth into the NCAA Tournament by winning the Mountain West Conference regular season title going 16-2, a school record for conference wins. The Broncos enter the NCAA Tournament with a 25-6 overall record, second most wins in program history, and winners of 14 straight.

Boise State received 11 points in the most recent AVCA coaches poll and are ranked 29th in the NCAA RPI and Rich Kerns RPI.

This is Western Kentucky's third-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament and 10th overall. The Lady Toppers went undefeated in conference play at 14-0 and won the league tournament. They are 30-2 overall and are riding a 21-match win streak into the NCAA Tournament. WKU has been in the AVCA rankings most of the season and is currently sitting at No. 20 with a NCAA RPI rating of 15.

Joining Boise State and Western Kentucky at Stanford, Calif., will be the Stanford Cardinal (19-7, 15-5 Pac-12) who tied for second in the Pacific-12 Conference and are ranked 12th in the AVCA poll. The Denver Pioneers (23-8, 13-3 SL) were regular-season co-champions of the Summit League and won the conference tournament title to advance.

The winner of the Boise State-Western Kentucky match will face the winner of the Stanford-Denver contest Saturday at 8 p.m. (MT).

Boise State is one of three Mountain West teams to receive bids into this year's NCAA Tournament with Colorado State and UNLV receiving at-large bids.
