Nobley Named MW Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State senior Sierra Nobley has been named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week for the final week of the 2017 regular season. Nobley led Boise State to a sweep last week defeating San Jose State (3-0) in Boise and Nevada (3-0) in Reno tallying 32 kills, one service ace and three blocks for 34.5 points, while hitting 36.8 percent on the week. This is Nobley's second offensive player of the week honor this season and 10th of her career.



LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS

  • Nobley averaged 5.33 kills, 0.17 service aces and 0.50 blocks for 5.75 points per set and hit over 33 percent in both contests. 

  • She led the team in kills and points during both contests. 

  • In the win over San Jose State she had a team-high 11 kills and hit 33.3 percent to go with one service ace and two block assists for 13 points. 

  • Up 7-6 in the second set, Nobley helped lead a decisive 6-1 run with three kills to take a 13-7 lead, the Broncos never trailed again as they took the set 25-18 ... she hit 55.6 percent in the set.

  • In the third set versus San Jose State she recorded four kills and hit 66.7 percent ... she went 9-0-16 in the last two sets combined to help put the match away.

  • In the win at Nevada she hit 38.6 percent and averaged seven kills per set ... she just missed a double-double adding nine digs to her totals. 

  • In the first two sets that were decided by three and two points, respectively, Nobley played a big role in the Broncos winning both tallying eight kills in each giving the Broncos momentum to win the match in three sets. 

  • In the second set she hit 57.1 percent ... with the Broncos leading 22-21 Nobley recorded two of the final three points with kills, including the set clincher.
