The team had a solid practice this morning after breakfast and got a good three hours of rest afterward. We headed to the locker room to watch some film, before heading to Olive Garden for an early pre-game meal. The team just arrived back at the Orleans Arena to prepare for our 7:30 pm match against Idaho! Go Broncos!

We finally arrived yesterday in Vegas after our flight was delayed. Instead of having an hour at the hotel  to get ready before our banquet, we ended up having some extra time at the airport so we ended up taking over the bathroom to get ready for the banquet. We had girls washing their hair in the sink, blow drying under the hand dryers and using the whole counter and mirrors. When we got to the hotel we only had time to run upstairs to put our clothes on then walked over to the banquet 30 minutes late. We all looked great though! Especially our gals who got to strut their stuff walking up to the front to receive their awards. Alisha (Young), Sadie (Maughan), and Breann (Nesselhuf) racked up a couple of awards and we are all so proud of them. After the banquet we had some time to experience some Vegas night life. As a team we walked the strip for a little before heading to bed to prepare for our big day today. One match at a time so right now we are all focused on Idaho!

Sadie Maughan (left) and Breann Nesselhuf, who were named to the All-WAC Second Team are joined by head coach Shawn Garus and All-WAC First Team honoree Alisha Young (far right).

To start everything off, I just have to say we had a great season! We came out so strong starting from pre-season till now. This has been the first team I have been on where everyone and everything has just connected. We have been practicing and pushing each other very hard every day in practice. We started off a little rough in our (final) match against San Jose State to get into WAC (tournament), but we managed to pull off the win like we are good at doing. We are now getting ready to head off to the tournament in Las Vegas and I couldn't be more excited for the team.  We get to play Idaho in the first round and there couldn't be a better way to start off the tournament against our rival. We have all been working extremely hard and we are all excited to show how it all pays off in our first-round match Monday night. This will be my first time getting to go to the WAC tournament and I can't wait to see what everything is like. I have always heard how fun the banquet was and getting to play in the tournament, but I never have gotten the chance to experience it till now. I know that our team is so ready to show everyone how we can play and what kind of team we are. I am looking forward to seeing how we do and know that no matter what happens we all know how hard we worked and that now our hard work now begins again for next season.
