Boise State Runs Over Fresno State 3-0
Sierra Nobley tied school record for freshman kills in a season with 354.

FRESNO, Calif. - Boise State won its third consecutive match on the road with a 25-21, 25-16, 25-15 sweep at Fresno State Thursday night in a Mountain West Conference volleyball match. After a slow start in the first set that saw the Broncos win by four, they regrouped in the final two frames to easily pull away from the Bulldogs for the victory. Maddy O'Donnell led the Broncos with 10 kills and four blocks, while Alyssa Gammel added nine kills. 
 
The victory was the fourth straight for the Broncos overall, all by sweep, as the Blue and Orange clinched a winning season improving to 16-11 on the year and 9-6 in league play. Next up for Boise State is the home finale next Wednesday night when the Broncos host San Diego State for Senior Day.
  
The Broncos started slow battling through a tight first set winning it by four points. Boise State collected itself during the break between the first and second sets to dominate the final two frames winning by and average of 9.5 points in each. The Broncos never trailed in the match and were tied only on three occasions throughout the three set match.
  
Sophomore middle blocker Maddy O'Donnell led the visitors by hitting 71.4 percent for a team-high 10 kills. She also recorded one service ace, one dig and four blocks. Alyssa Gammel was close behind with nine kills while hitting 28 percent. The senior outside hitter added two assists, team-high nine digs and one block.   
  
Tonight's seven kills by Sierra Nobley means she tied the school record for kills by a freshman in a season with 354. She also had one assist, one ace, five digs and three blocks against the Bulldogs. 
  
Kaitlyn Oliver matched Nobley's kill total at Fresno State and added a team-high five blocks. Junior setter Sarah Baugh led the team with 32 assists, along with three kills, one ace, two digs and three blocks. Maddi Osburn matched Gammel's nine digs to tie for the team-high followed by Hannah Hubbard with eight. 
  
The Broncos hit a combined 29.7 percent as a team tonight with 38 kills, 38 assists, five service aces, 38 digs and 12 blocks.  
  
Fresno State countered at 9.7 percent hitting for 39 kills. The Bulldogs also had 37 assists, 38 digs and five blocks versus the Broncos. Maci Murdock led Fresno State with 10 kills and three blocks, Jaimee-Lee Morrow was next with nine kills.
