Nwagbuo leads Broncos with 18 points.

BOISE, Idaho (11/4/2011) - Darlene Nwagbuo led Boise State with a career-high 15 kills as the Broncos swept the Air Force Falcons in straight sets 25-13, 25-23 and 25-16 in a Mountain West volleyball match Friday night in Boise. The Broncos hit a solid 37.6 percent in the match compared to the Falcons' 11.4 percent. The victory gave Boise State its second sweep of the season in league play defeating both Air Force and Wyoming twice. The victory improves the Broncos to 15-13 overall and 5-7 in Mountain West action with two matches at home next week against San Diego State and UNLV to close the regular season.  

Boise State opened the match strong running away with a 25-13 victory in set one. Both Nwagbuo and Liz Harden recorded five kills apiece during the set to lead the Broncos who hit a match-high 42.9 percent.

The second set was tight with the teams trading five leads to go with 10 ties before the Broncos pulled it out with a two-point 25-23 win. Breann Nesselhuf led Boise State in the set with four kills followed by Nwagbuo with three and four block assists, Elizabeth Griffin added five block assists.

Following the break it took the Broncos a while to get going in the third set before pulling away midway through. It was a two-point game at 16-14 Boise State when the Broncos rolled off a  9-2 run to put the match away at 25-16. Nwagbuo had seven kills and one block assist in the set to lead Boise State to the victory.

Nwagbuo led the home side on the night with 18 points on 15 kills and six block assists while hitting an impressive 65.2 percent. Nesselhuf and Harden followed with 8.5 points each. Nesselhuf added seven kills (.250), 14 assists, one ace, 10 digs and one block assist. Meanwhile, Harden recorded eight kills, hit 44.4 percent, five digs, and one block assist. Brittany Reardon was a close fourth in points with eight on six kills, one ace and two block assists. Casey Rose had a team-high 19 assists.

Cami Richan led Air Force with 11 points on 10 kills and one solo block, followed by Victoria Foster with eight points on eight kills. Ayeshia Hein matched Foster's point total with six kills and two aces.
