Broncos Sweep Louisiana Tech For First Conference Win At Home

BOISE, Idaho It was senior night at Bronco Gym and the Boise State volleyball team sent its seniors out on a high note as the Broncos swept Louisiana Tech in three with scores of 30-23, 30-23 and 26-30, Saturday.

In each of the Broncos victories at home this season, they have swept their opponents in three games, posting wins over UTSA and Cal State Fullerton.

Offensively, Maren Ericson led the attack for the Broncos as she tallied 13 kills, while Tiffany Starring led the seniors with 11 kills, eight digs, four assists, three aces and a pair of blocks.

Freshman Sadie Maughan left a lasting impression on the Lady Techsters as she led the team hitting an impressive .353 (9-3-17) on the night. Teammate Mandy Klein set the pace for the Broncos, tallying 35 assists against La Tech.

Both Lauren Hamm and Jamie Claussen recorded double-figure digs, as Hamm led the Broncos with 14 and Claussen notched 10 of her own. Along with leading the team in kills, Ericson also led the Broncos in blocks with three.

As a team, Boise State outblocked the La Tech, 8.0 to 6.0, while outhitting the Lady Techsters .252 (48-14-135) to .087 (41-30-127).

The Broncos now look to close out the regular season on the road as they take on Eastern Washington, Thursday, and cross-state rival Idaho, Saturday.
