BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State volleyball team got off to a strong start against San Jose State as it took the first game, but despite their best efforts, the Broncos fell to the Spartans in five with scores of 31-29, 22-30, 31-29, 21-30, 9-15.
Leading the attack for the Broncos was Maren Ericson as she tallied 19 kills, while teammate Jeanette Jenkins notched 11 of her own. Junior setter Mandy Klein recorded 37 assists, while senior Tiffany Starring added four service aces.
Three Broncos recorded double-digit dig figures with Lauren Hamm leading the way with 16, followed by Jeanene Rose with 15 and Jamie Claussen with 12. Adding to the defensive front was Robyn Hewitt, who tallied six blocks.
The Broncos now travel to Reno where they will face Nevada, Saturday at 7 p.m.
