Boise State Rallies Past Wyoming 3-1
BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State volleyball team rallied from one set down to defeat Wyoming 3-1 (21-25, 25-13, 25-22, 25-22) in a key Mountain West match Saturday night in Bronco Gym.  It was the first time this season that the Broncos have won after dropping the opening set entering the match 0-7 in that category. Breann Nesselhuf, Liz Harden and Darlene Nwagbuo were crucial for Boise State in the victory with 16, 13 and 11 kills respectively as the Broncos completed the season sweep of the Cowgirls to improve to 13-11 overall and 4-5 in conference.

"I thought Liz Harden was a difference maker for us tonight," said head coach Shawn Garus. "Liz took on a big role for us in the match.  She played hard, passed well and was consistent, which allowed other players to have big nights as well like Bree (Nesselhuf), Darlene (Nwagbuo) and Elizabeth (Griffin). I was proud of the way we battled back after dropping the first set. They hung together as a team and the result was a big win tonight over Wyoming."

The match opened with Wyoming taking a seven point lead midway through the period. The Broncos attempted to rally late pulling within two points at 23-21 before the Cowgirls scored the final two points for the win.

The second set was all Broncos as they claimed momentum in match with a solid 12 point 25-13 victory. Boise State hit a match-high .385 percent (13-3-26) while Wyoming countered with its match-low .136 percent (7-4-22) in set two as the contest went into the break even at one set apiece.   

Boise State came out of the break with momentum winning the next two sets by identical 25-22 scores as the Broncos completed the rally for the win. Set three was tight with the Broncos leading most of the way by one or two points as the period saw three lead changes and 12 ties before the home team pulled out the three-point win. Nwagbuo was huge in the third stanza as she recorded five kills and three blocks, two of them solos.

The fourth set was just as close as the third, however, the Broncos led it the entire way with only four ties. With the set tied at 13, Boise State used a 7-2 run to take a period-high five point lead, 20-15, to seize momentum once again. The Cowgirls did attempt to rally pulling within two points at 24-22 before Harden put it away for the Broncos with a commanding smash for the three-point victory giving Boise State the match.  
 
Nesselhuf led Boise State with career-highs  for points and kills with 17 and 16 respectively, to go with 25 assists, one ace and seven digs, while hitting .414 percent. Harden followed with 16 points, 13 kills, 10 digs and two block assists. Nwagbuo added 14.5 points, 11 kills, two solo blocks and three block assists, in addition to hitting .450 percent. Griffin had 8.5 points, eight kills and one block assist. Casey Rose contributed 23 assists and six digs, while Kersti Whitney had a team-high 13 digs followed by Amanda Remy with 11 and a team-best three aces. The Broncos finished the match hitting .267 percent (56-21-131) with seven blocks.

Jodi Purdy led Wyoming with 16 points, 15 kills, 10 digs and two block assists. Camille Coffman was second with 12 points, 10 kills and four block assists while hitting .450 percent. The Cowgirls finished at .230 percent (49-20-126) hitting and 8.5 blocks. Wyoming fell to 15-9 and 5-4 with the loss.

Next up for the blue and orange is the final regular season road trip as Boise State heads to New Mexico and TCU this coming week.
