WHAT IS HAPPENING THIS WEEK

  • Boise State (11-9, 4-4 MW) wraps up a stint of four straight road matches this week when the Broncos travel to San Diego State (9-12, 3-5 MW) and Fresno State (8-12, 3-5 MW). 

  • The Broncos play at San Diego State Thursday night at 7 p.m. (Mountain) in Aztec Court at Peterson Gym. 

  • The week will conclude Saturday at Fresno State with a start time of 2 p.m. (Mountain) in the Save Mart Center.

  • Both contests will be broadcast by the Mountain West Network.

LAST WEEK FOR THE BRONCOS

  • Boise State was on the road for two Mountain West contests this past week falling at Utah State and Air Force. 

  • Sabryn Roberts led the Broncos at Utah State tallying 10 kills and two blocks, Sierra Nobley added nine kills and 11 digs. 

  • On Saturday at Air Force Nobley led with a team-high 13 kills followed by Roberts with 12 and Kiley Lewis with nine. 

ABOUT SAN DIEGO STATE

  • The Aztecs enter the week at 9-12 overall and have a 3-5 league mark. 

  • SDSU is coming off a road split last week winning at New Mexico (3-1) before falling at UNLV (3-1). 

  • San Diego State is averaging 13.3 kills per set (4th MW) while hitting 20.1 percent (7th MW) on the year ... the Aztecs are holding opponents to 21.2 percent hitting (8th MW).

  • SDSU was picked to place third in the MW preseason poll after returning four starters, the libero and nine letterwinners from last year’s team. 

  • This will be the 14th meeting in the all-time series which Boise State leads 7-6 ... the Broncos won 3-0 earlier this year in Boise and have won six straight in the series.

ABOUT FRESNO STATE

  • The Bulldogs enter the week at 8-12 overall and 3-5 in league play. 

  • Fresno State is coming off a road split last week defeating UNLV (3-2), then fell at New Mexico (3-1).

  • Fresno State is averaging 11.7 kills per set (10th MW) while hitting 19.6 percent (8th MW) as a team ... meanwhile, the Bulldogs hold opponents to 21.4 percent hitting (9th MW). 

  • The Bulldogs were picked to place 10th in the 2017 MW race after returning five starters and eight letterwinners from last year’s team. 

  • This is the 36th meeting in the series which is led by Fresno State 20-15 ... Boise State has won seven straight including the first meeting of the season in Boise by a 3-0 score.

  • Boise State leads the league in four statistical categories entering the week: kills per set at 14.1, assists per set at 13.21, total digs at 1,123 and digs per set at 15.6.

BOISE STATE TOP NCAA RANKINGS

  • The Broncos are ranked 24th in the NCAA for kills per set (14.1) and 26th for assists per set (13.2).

NOBLEY LEADS MW IN TWO CATEGORIES

  • Sierra Nobley leads the MW in kills per set at 4.80 and points per set at 5.37. 

  • Nobley has led the conference in kills and points per set for the last three years.

NOBLEY LEADS THE MW IN DOUBLE-DOUBLES

  • The senior outside hitter leads the MW with a league-high 44 career doubles, including nine this season. 

  • She has two in MW play during 2017 versus Colorado State (Oct. 5) and Wyoming (Oct. 7).

NOBLEY AMONG NCAA CAREER LEADERS

  • Sierra Nobley is currently ranked among the NCAA’s top-6 for 2017’s active players in four categories: third for career kills (1,750), third for kills per set (4.52), fourth for total attacks (4,497) and fifth for attacks per set (11.62). 

OSBURN IN NCAA TOP-25 CAREER DIGS

  • Senior libero Maddi Osburn is currently ranked 22nd among active 2017 NCAA players for career digs with 1,603.
