Broncos Set to Take On Wolf Pack, Aggies

This Week - The Boise State University volleyball team (8-10 overall, 2-4 conference) hits the road for the second time in Western Athletic Conference play, taking on Nevada, Oct. 19, and Utah State, Oct 21.

The Broncos split last weekend’s games, downing Fresno State in three straight, and dropping a match to San Jose State in three. The Broncos also lost to No. 11 Hawaii, Oct. 9, in three games.

The Teams - Nevada (11-8 overall, 5-2 WAC) defeated Fresno State in five games last weekend, but was downed by San Jose State in three-straight. The Wolf Pack are led by Teal Ericson, who averages 4.15 kills per game; Tristin Johnson leads Nevada with 11.09 assists per game; and Allison Hernandez leads the team in digs with 3.21 per game.

Utah State (10-12 overall, 3-5 WAC) has lost each of its last four matches. Both Fresno State and San Jose State defeated the Aggies in five games last weekend, and Hawaii (No. 15) and Nevada each dropped Utah State in three-straight the week before. Utah State is led by Amanda Nelson, who is averaging 4.20 kills per game; Heather Hillier leads the Aggies with 9.59 assists per game; and Kelsi Peterson leads the team in digs, posting 4.64 per game.

Bronco Leaders - Senior Cameron Flunder leads the team in kills, averaging 3.46 per game. Not far behind is sophomore Jeanette Jenkins, who is posting 3.30 kills per game. Sophomore Mandy Klein leads the team in assists, averaging 9.68 per game. Senior Jackie Stroud leads the Broncos in digs with an average of 4.30 per game.
