THIS WEEK FOR THE BRONCOS
  • Boise State (12-6, 4-2 MW) is on the road this week for a pair of contests at Nevada (7-11, 2-4 MW) and at San Diego State (5-13, 2-4 MW). 

at Nevada; Thursday, Oct. 15
  • Boise State begins this week’s action at 7:30 p.m. (Mountain) at Nevada in the Virginia Street Gym. 
  • The Wolf Pack has struggled at times this season going 7-11 overall and 2-4 in league. They are coming off a split of road matches last week falling at UNLV 3-1, then beat Fresno State 3-2.
  • Nevada was picked to finish 10th in the MW preseason poll returning four starters, the libero and seven letterwinners from 2014.
  • Madison Morell leads the Wolf Pack with 222 kills with a 3.36 kill per set average (4th MW) ... Madison Foley has 214 kills to average 3.24 (5th MW).
  • Nevada as a team has been hitting 17.2 percent (9th MW) and averaging 12.09 kills per set (10th MW). 
  • The series is tied at 26 ... Boise State has won seven straight contests over Nevada ... The Wolf Pack leads the series in Reno 14-12.

San Diego State; Saturday, Oct. 17
  • The week continues Saturday afternoon in San Diego where the Broncos face the Aztecs at 2 p.m. (Mountain) in Peterson Gym. 
  • SDSU enters the week 5-13 overall and 2-4 in conference following a road split last weekend falling at UNLV 3-1, before winning in five at Fresno State.
  • The Aztecs were picked to place sixth in the MW preseason poll, they return three starters plus the libero and eight letterwinners from 2014.
  • Deja Harris has a team-high 151 kills for a 2.44 per set average while hitting 29.9 percent (10th MW) ... Alexandra Psoma averages 2.5 kills per set.
  • As a team San Diego State is hitting 15.5 percent (11th MW) on the year and averages 12.39 kills per set (8th MW). 
  • San Diego State leads the all-time series 6-2 ... Boise State won the lone meeting last year 3-1 in Boise ... the Broncos have never won at SDSU in three attempts.

Shawn Garus, Head Coach
  • Garus currently sits at 221-218 overall in his 15-year career as a collegiate head coach.
  • Garus is currently 106-98 at Boise State in his seventh season.
  • Garus hit the 100 win milestone at Boise State when the Broncos defeated Abilene Christian 3-0 on Sept. 12.
  • Garus ranks second in total wins in program history.

Team Statistical Rankings
  • This week the Broncos lead the Mountain West and are ranked high nationally in three statistical categories. 
  • Hitting percentage of .273 leads the MW and is 17th nationally ... they finished 2014 ranked 24th nationally at .263, a school record. 
  • They average 14.88 kills per set to lead the MW and rank second nationally ... they finished last year ranked 17th in NCAA at 14.21 kps.
  • Boise State dishes out 13.98 assists per set to lead the MW and rank second nationally ... the Broncos were 15th nationally at the end of 2014 at 13.25.
  • The Broncos are second in the MW in digs per set at 14.95.

NCAA RPI
  • Boise State is ranked No. 49 in the second NCAA RPI release of the year on Oct. 12.
  • That ranks them third in the MW behind Wyoming at No. 37 and Colorado State at No. 48.
  • All six of the Broncos’ losses have come to teams ranked in the top-65: Washington No. 7, Wyoming No. 37, Colorado State No. 48, Idaho State No. 53, Gonzaga No. 57 and Northern Arizona No. 64.

Sarah Baugh, Setter
  • On the year, senior setter Sarah Baugh leads the MW and is third nationally in assists per set at 12.12.
  • She also leads the MW and is ranked 21st in NCAA for total assists at 795.
  • Became the sixth Bronco all-time to reach 3,000 career assists milestone when she had 70 at Colorado State (Sept. 26) to give her 3,022.
  • Recorded her ninth double-double of the year at Utah State (Oct. 6) with 40 assists and 11 digs ... that is the most double-doubles in the MW for 2015.
  • Her 17 career double-doubles ranks second in the MW among active players in 2015.

Sierra Nobley, Outside Hitter
  • Has led the Broncos in kills during 14 of 18 matches this season.
  • Leads MW and is ranked eighth nationally for kills per set at 4.67.
  • Nobley leads the MW and is ninth in NCAA for points per set at 5.25. 
  • Leads MW and ranked 22nd nationally in total kills with 299.
  • She ranks 10th in the nation for attacks per set at 12.14.
  • Has been named the MW offensive Player of the Week twice in 2015 on Sept. 21 and Oct. 12.
  • Has six double-doubles on the year and has active streak of three straight ... last came against San Jose State (Oct. 8) with 11 kills and 12 digs.

Kaitlyn Oliver, Middle Blocker
  • Oliver ranks second in MW and 17th nationally in hitting percentage at .422.
  • Has been named the MW offensive Player of the Week twice in 2015 on Sept. 7 and Oct. 5.
  • Second on team in kills with 174 (2.68 kps). 
  • Hit a career-high 60 percent for 17 kills in Bronco come from behind victory over UNLV (Oct. 1).

Maddi Osburn, Libero
  • Ranked second in MW and 57th nationally for digs per set at 4.71.
  • Ranked third in MW and 79th in NCAA for total digs with 306.
  • During league competition she leads the MW in digs per set at 5.13.
