Boise State Drops Match To San Jose

BOISE, Idaho Despite outblocking San Jose State, 13.0 to 9.0, the Boise State volleyball team fell to the Spartans in three games with scores of 23-30, 16-30, 21-30, Saturday.

Leading the way for the Broncos was junior setter Mandy Klein as she recorded a hitting percentage of .222 (3-1-9), while tallying 23 assists and 11 digs. Freshman Alisha King hit .208 (6-1-24) on the night, while junior Jeanette Jenkins led the attack for the Broncos with 10 kills.

Defensively, freshman Lauren Hamm notched 17 digs, while senior Tiffany Starring recorded a season high of 12. Junior Maren Ericson and Jenkins led the defensive front for the Broncos as each tallied six blocks, which marked a career high for Jenkins.

The Broncos now make the short trip to Pocatello to take on Idaho State, Monday, before they face off against Utah Valley State, Thursday, and Utah State, Saturday.
