Nobley Named MW Offensive Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State sophomore Sierra Nobley has been named the Mountain West Conference Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for matches played Oct. 5-11. The native of Scottsdale, Arizona led Boise State to a sweep of Utah State 3-0 in Logan and San Jose State 3-0 in Boise as the Broncos extended their win streak to four matches. This is the second player of the week honor for Nobley this season and the second of her career. It is also the fourth player of the week honor for the Boise State program this year.

Last Week’s Highlights

  • Nobley was instrumental in both victories last week recording double-doubles in both contests. 
  • She finished the two-match stretch hitting 41.9 percent while averaging a team-high 5.0 kills per set, 3.83 digs, and 5.25 points per set. 
  • On the week recorded a team-best 30 kills to go with 23 digs and a team-high 31.5 points.
  • In the road victory over Utah State on Tuesday night, Oct. 6, she recorded her fifth double-double of the year on 19 kills and 11 digs with a hitting percentage of .432. The victory snapped an 11-match losing streak for the Broncos in Logan, Utah, versus the Aggies dating back to 1998. 
  • In the win over San Jose State in Boise on Thursday, Oct. 8, Nobley tallied her sixth double-double of the season on 11 kills and 12 digs, both team-second-best marks, while hitting 40 percent. She also had one assist, one service ace and one block.
