Boise State-Air Force Volleyball Match Remains Postponed

Oct. 3, 2013

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -  The Mountain West Conference office released this afternoon that the Air Force at Boise State volleyball match scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 3, remains postponed.  There had been hopes that the travel restrictions would be lifted on the Air Force Academy, as a result of the government shutdown, which would have allowed the Falcons to travel to Boise for a Friday match. But as of 5 p.m. Thursday nothing has changed and the match will not be played tomorrow night.

As a result, the two coaches and the Mountain West office will make all efforts to reschedule the match on a later date. The shutdown also affects Air Force’s match scheduled for Saturday at Utah State putting that match in jeopardy as well. Sunday still remains a possibility for the Falcons if the government shutdown is lifted or the academy is permitted to travel. However, efforts will first be made to travel Air Force to Logan, Utah, to play Utah State if Sunday becomes the only available day for Air Force to play a match this weekend.

Boise State’s busy schedule still has the Broncos playing twice over the next four days beginning with New Mexico at 7 p.m. on Saturday, followed by Grand Canyon at 7 p.m. on Monday, both matches will be in Bronco Gym.
