Broncos Face-off Against Fresno State and Idaho

BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State volleyball team will travel to the Golden State to take on Fresno State, Thursday, before returning home to host cross-state rival, Idaho, Saturday.

“I don’t know why, but we feel good,” Bronco head coach Robin Davis said. “We were optimistic going into last week and felt we played pretty well against New Mexico State for half of each game and didn’t finish.  However, we played well and we’re encouraged by that.”

This marks the Broncos’ second match-up against the Bulldogs this season while it will be their first meeting with the Vandals.

Sizing Up the Competition...
Fresno State (4-12, 2-4):  The Bulldogs enter the match at 2-4 in conference, currently in sixth place ... The Bulldogs fell to Nevada 0-3 and Utah State in four in two WAC home matches last week ... Fresno State as a team is fourth in service aces (1.36), fifth in assists (13.41), and sixth in kills (14.32) ... Individually,  Alisha McKee is fifth in kills (4.47) and sixth in points (4.92) ... Tiffany Hess is fourth in assists (12.00 per game), and Lisa Gera is third in digs (4.95) per game.  

  Idaho (6-9, 3-2):  The Vandals are currently ranked fifth in the WAC, posting wins over Nevada, Fresno and La. Tech ... Last week, Idaho suffered its first loss in conference play to No. 24 New Mexico State ... Leading the attack for the Vandals is junior Haley Larsen who tops the WAC in kills with 5.41 kpg and points with an average of 5.86 ppg ... Look for sophomore Anna McKinney to make an impact for the Vandals as she ranks fifth the WAC in blocks with 1.25 blocks per game and is eighth in hitting percentage with a .269.
