Bronco Volleyball Hosts San Jose Sate and Fresno State (Oct 5 and 7).

The Broncos are in their third week of  Western Athletic Conference action. After three straight WAC matches on the road, the Broncos will host two matches this week - hosting San Jose State (Thursday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. in Bronco Gym) and then hosting Fresno State (Saturday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. in Bronco Gym). The Broncos then hop on a plane and travel to Hawaii Saunday to play the Hawaii Wahine on Monday, Oct. 9.

For the Broncos' home matches (both in Bronco Gym), tickets will be $5 for adults and $3 for juniors. Parking on Thursday for the San Jose State match will be in the General Parking Permit section of the Stadium lot between the Taco Bell Arena and Bronco Stadium.

Parking Saturday for the Fresno State match (as it is a double-header day with football) will be in the Liberal Art and Library parking lots between the Student Union Building and the Library.

The San Jose State Spartans are 9-7 overall and 0-3 in WAC play. They are led by Jennifer Senftleben who averages 4.17 kills per game. Kristina Conrad averages 11.46 assists. As a team, San Jose State averages 14.86 kills, 13.42 assists, 1.77 aces, 16.23 digs and 2.05 blocks per game.

Fresno State is 2-12 overall and 0-3 in the WAC. The Bulldogs are led by Lacey Gera's 3.03 kills per game. The Bulldogs' setters are Lisa Gera (5.65 assists per game) and Tiffany Hess (4.96 assists per game). As a team, the Bulldogs average 13.07 kills, 12.21 assists, 1.07 aces, 15.98 digs and 1.63 blocks.

The Hawaii Wahine are 3-0 in the WAC and 9-4 overall. Hawaii is led by Jamie Houston's 5.3 kills and 2.36 digs. Kanoe Kamana`o averages 13.18 assists per game. As a team, Hawaii averages 15.94 kills, 15.15 assists, 1.19 aces, 16.67 digs and 3.19 blocks per game.

Bronco Leaders and Stats in 2006:

The Boise State team averages 13.49 kills, 12.06 assists, 1.92 aces, 15.45 digs and 1.95 blocks. Boise State's opponents are averaging 15.45 kills, 13.94 assists, 1.57 aces, 16.26 digs and 2.67 blocks.

After five weekends of play, Cameron Flunder averages 3.31 kills. and 0.71 blocks; Jeanette Jenkins is at 3.27 kills. Mandy Klein averages 9.47 assists and 0.53 aces per game. Elise Ardron averages 0.83 blocks.. Jackie Stroud averages 4.37 digs. In the WAC overall rankings, Flunder is ranked fourth in hitting percentage (.342), Klein is ranked fifth in assists, and Stroud is ranked sixth in digs.

The Broncos Last Week:

MOSCOW, Idaho - (09-29-06) The Idaho volleyball team defeated Boise State in four games, 30-19, 23-30, 30-24, 30-23.  The Broncos were led by Jeanette Jenkins' 13 kills and cameron Flunder's 10 kills and three blocks. Tiffany Starring added 10 digs. Mandy Klein had 39 assists. It was the only match of the week for the Broncos
