Broncos Fall to Louisiana Tech in Five

RUSTON, La. - Despite putting up a tough fight, the Boise State volleyball team fell to Louisiana in five games with scores of 30-25, 30-28, 23-30, 23-30, 13-15, Saturday.

The Broncos outblocked the Lady Techsters, 12 to 9, with freshman Sadie Maughan posting six total blocks while Jeanette Jenkins tallied three solo blocks on the evening.

Offensively, the Broncos had four girls with double-digit kills including Arlee Tamietti (18), Jenkins (14), Robyn Hewitt (13) and Alisha King (11). Maughan led Boise State with a hitting-percentage of .375 (7-1-16).

Setter Mandy Klein proved to be a force on the floor as she tallied 56 assists, 11 digs and two service aces for the Broncos. Freshman Lauren Hamm led Boise State in digs with 24, while teammate Jeanene Rose notched 10 of her own.

The Broncos now prepare to take on in-state rival, Idaho, Saturday, Oct. 6 at home.
