► What's Happening - The Boise State volleyball team returns to Bronco Gym on Thursday, Oct. 1 to host their first Western Athletic Conference match. The Broncos (1-11, 1-1 WAC) host Fresno State (7-6, 0-1 WAC) in a 7 p.m. match.
Splitting the week at home and on the road, the Broncos will continue their week of competition at Utah State (8-6, 0-2 WAC) on Saturday, Oct. 3 in a 7 p.m. match in Logan, Utah.
Their final match of the week will be played on Monday, Oct. 5 in Orem, Utah against Utah Valley University (8-5) at 7 p.m.

Looking at Boise State...
► In General - The Broncos broke a 13-match losing streak (dating to the 2008 season) when they came back to defeat San Jose State 3-2 on Saturday. The Broncos were down 2-0 and fought through the final three sets to earn their first win of the season. They also faced No. 4 Hawaii on Thursday of last week, falling 3-0. It was their third match this season they had played against an NCAA top-25 team.
► Quick Look at the Broncos - The Broncos' top offensive players thus far in the season include Sadie Maughan, Alisha Young and Liz Harden. Maughan leads the team in hitting percentage (.256) while she is also tied with Harden for total number of kills (87). Young has tallied 83 kills on the season.
Maughan also leads the team in total blocks with 51.0 and points with 117.0.
Breann Nesselhuf has tallied 257 assists on the season while Jeanene Rose leads the team with 12 service aces and Lauren Hamm leads in digs with 101.

► About Utah State - Utah State holds an 8-6 record heading into the weekend with their most recent win coming on Sept. 19 against Robert Morris. They are 0-2 in WAC play, falling to Louisiana Tech and New Mexico State. The Aggies will face San Jose State prior to playing Boise State, hosting the Spartans on Oct. 1 in Logan, Utah.
The Aggies' offense is led by Liz McArthur who has tallied a team-high of 212 kills on the season while Chelsea Fowles has run the offensive efforts with her 573 assists. McArthur also leads the team in points with 242.5 total while Fowles is the team leader in service aces with 20. Defensively, USU is led by Shantell Durrant at the net with 61.0 total blocks while Christine Morrill controls the back court with her 246 digs.

► The Series - The Broncos and Wolverines will be facing-off for the second time this season with the first match ending in a 3-1 win by UVU in Boise on Sept. 17. Utah Valley holds a 5-1 lead over Boise State in the all-time series.
► About Utah Valley - The Wolverines hold an 8-5 record on the season, including a big win over then-ranked No. 17 Utah, 3-1. They hold a three-match winning streak, including the win over Boise State, a win on Sept. 18 over Chicago State (3-0) and a win over Southern Utah (3-0) on Sept. 22. UVU will face North Dakota on Oct. 1 and South Dakota on Oct. 2 in Orem, Utah, before hosting the Broncos on Oct. 5.
The team is led by Kayli Broadbent, who has accumulated 186 kills this season as well as 18 aces. Chelsea Fa'alogo has run the offense with her 474 assists while Allyce Jones has dominated the back court defense with 223 digs.
