Boise State Falls in Three to No. 7 Colorado State

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State had its hands full with No. 7 Colorado State in town as the Broncos fell in straight sets 25-19, 25-17, 25-22 in Bronco Gym on Saturday afternoon. Boise State battled hard but CSU's size and experience came through for the five-time defending Mountain West champions handing the Broncos the home loss snapping the Blue and Orange's five-match win streak in the process. The Broncos moved to 8-6 on the year and 1-1 in MW play, while Colorado State improved to 14-1 and 2-0 in league. 

Down two sets at the intermission, Boise State came out strong in the third set and led most of the way. However, the Rams rallied late to win the final frame 25-22 to clinch the match 3-0. 
Alyssa Gammel led the Boise State effort with a team-best eight kills to go with nine digs. Sophomore Maddy O'Donnell followed with seven kills, one ace and team-high three blocks. Freshman Sierra Nobley was next with six kills and one block.
Sarah Baugh dished out 30 assist while adding one kill, one ace and six digs. Hannah Hubbard and Maddi Osburn split time at libero to lead the team's defensive effort. Hubbard recorded eight digs, Osburn finished with five. 
Boise State ended the match hitting 13 percent with 33 kills, 31 assists, two service aces, 34 digs and five blocks. Colorado State hit 34 percent for 41 kills, the Rams added 41 assists, six aces, 33 digs and 12.5 blocks. Marlee Reynolds led two Rams in double-digit kills with 13 to go with four blocks, Jasmine Hanna followed with 10 kills.
