Maddi Osburn Voted Athlete Of The Week

BOISE, Idaho - Senior libero Maddi Osburn of the Bronco volleyball team was voted the Boise State Athlete of the Week (Sept. 18-24) by Bronco fans Monday.

Osburn came out on top in one of the closest polls in the young award's history, taking 49 percent of the vote to edge Raimee Sherle (46 percent).

Saturday, Osburn broke the school record (1,491) for career digs in the third set of Boise State's 3-0 sweep against San Diego State, finishing with 12 to make the new record 1,495 and counting.

For the weekend, Osburn averaged 12.5 digs over Boise State's weekend sweep of Fresno State and San Diego State, and served up a pair of service aces. On the year, Osburn leads the Broncos with 5.67 digs per set.

The Broncos (9-5, 2-0 MW), the defending Mountain West champions, hit the road for its first away weekend of conference play, visiting New Mexico Thursday (7 p.m.) and UNLV Saturday (4 p.m. MT).
