Osburn Earns MW Weekly Defensive Honor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State junior Maddi Osburn (Nampa, Idaho) has been named the Mountain West Conference Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 12-18. Osburn led Boise State's defensive efforts on the Broncos perfect 4-0 run to the Boise State Invitational championship last week, which included an upset of No. 17 Santa Clara. This is the second such honor of the season for Osburn and the third of her career.

Osburn's Highlight's From Last Week

  • Osburn helped the Broncos to a perfect 4-0 record and the Boise State Invitational championship over the weekend as the blue and orange recorded 3-1 victories against Portland State, UC Davis, No. 17 Santa Clara and Arizona State.
  • Osburn recorded 73 digs for a 4.56 digs per set average in 16 sets over the weekend ... had a serve receive percentage rate of .986 making only one error on 71 receptions ... had a team-high six service aces on the week.
  • She turned in a team-high 19 digs and was perfect on 17 serve receptions in the Broncos win over Portland State.
  • She had a team-high 21 digs in the victory over UC Davis.
  • Osburn was crucial in Boise State's defensive efforts in the upset of No. 17 Santa Clara Friday night with a team-high 19 digs and was perfect in serve receive on 25 receptions.
  • In the win over Arizona State, she tallied 14 digs and was perfect once again in serve receive on 20 receptions.
