CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Boise State wasted little time in racing past Incarnate Word as the Broncos swept the Cardinals 25-21, 25-19, 25-14 to open their weekend at the Islanders Classic in Corpus Christi, Texas. After trailing 3-2 to start the first set Boise State jumped on the Cardinals and never let up. The Broncos would trail only once more at 5-4 in the third set as they rolled to their third sweep of the season. The victory improved the Blue and Orange to 5-5 on the year with two matches on the schedule for tomorrow against Omaha at 10 a.m. (Mountain) and Texas A&M Corpus Christi at 6 p.m.
 
Freshman Sierra Nobley led an all-around team effort for Boise State hitting 27 percent for a team-high 13 kills, in addition to one service ace, one assist, four digs and one block. 
 
She was followed closely by senior Alyssa Gammel with 11 kills, two assists, one ace, eight digs and three blocks. Sophomore middle blocker Maddy O'Donnell matched Gammel's kill total while hitting a team-best 52.9 percent to go with five digs and team-high (tied) four blocks.
 
Sarah Baugh continues to be solid at setter for the Broncos distributing 34 assists on the day while tallying one ace, seven digs and tying for the team high in blocks with four. Sophomore Hannah Hubbard led the team in digs for the 33rd time in her career with 11 against the Cardinals.
 
The Broncos finished the match hitting 29.7 percent with 46 kills, 41 assists, three aces, 48 digs and 10 blocks. UIW was held to a Bronco season low hitting percentage for an opponent at 11.5 percent. The Cardinals recorded 34 kills, 34 assists, one service ace, 45 digs and four blocks. Angelique Vidaurri led UIW with 11 kills.
