Oliver Named Mountain West Volleyball Player of the Week

BOISE, Idaho  - Boise State redshirt-sophomore middle blocker Kaitlyn Oliver has earned her first Mountain West Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honor for her performance at the Boise State Invitational this past weekend. Oliver led the Broncos to a 2-1 mark at the tournament including Boise State's first-ever sweep of a Big Ten opponent in Northwestern on Saturday.

Kaitlyn Oliver started all three matches during the Boise State Invitational and earned all-tournament team honors after recording 28 kills and team-high 13 blocks during the three-day competition. The Helena, Mont., native averaged a team-second-best 2.8 kills , team-high 1.3 blocks and 3.45 points per set. She also hit a team-high 48.9 percent, for players with 20-plus attempts (28-6-45), during the 10-set weekend.

In the Idaho State match on Sept. 3 Oliver tallied 11 kills, hit 44.4 percent and had a team-high five blocks.

In Boise State's 3-0 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sept. 4 she hit a team-best and a career-high 61.5 percent for nine kills to go with two blocks.

Oliver wrapped up her weekend against Northwestern leading the Broncos to a 3-0 sweep over the Northwestern Wildcats recording eight kills while hitting 42.9 percent. She added a team and season-high six blocks.
