SPOKANE, Wash. - While the Boise State volleyball team did its best to keep pace with Gonzaga, the Broncos fell to the Bulldogs in three games during the final match of the Gonzaga Tournament, Saturday night at the Martin Centre.

Entering the match, the Broncos led the series with the Bulldogs 14-7, but lost to Gonzaga 26-30, 22-30, 26-30.

Freshman libero Lauren Hamm proved to be a force to be reckoned with on the defensive front as she notched a career-high 22 digs against the Bulldogs. Hamm leads the Broncos with 79 digs on the season, averaging 4.4 digs per game.

Leading the way for the offense was freshman Sadie Maughan as she posted a team-high hitting-percentage of .300 (9-3-20), while junior Mandy Klein tallied 36 assists.

Sophomore Arlee Tamietti’s outstanding play during the three-match round-robin invite earned her a spot on the Gonzaga Tournament All-Tournament team after she led the Broncos with 10 kills against the Bulldogs. This marks the second straight tournament in which she named to the All-Tournament team.

The Broncos now prepare to take on UC Davis and San Francisco at the UC Davis Tournament in Davis, Calif., Sept. 7 through Sept. 8.
