SPOKANE, Wash. - There seems to be no stopping the Boise State volleyball team as the Broncos posted their third three-game sweep of the season, Friday, at the Gonzaga Tournament.
In the first meeting against Morgan State, the Broncos defeated the Bears 30-23, 30-23, 30-18. This marks the first time since 2000 that Boise State has swept three of its first four games.
Leading the offensive front for the Broncos was sophomore Arlee Tamietti, who tallied a season-high 18 kills and four service aces.
Freshman Sadie Maughan continued show why she leads the team in hitting-percentage as she posted a season-high percentage of .500 (9-1-16).
Junior setter Mandy Klein notched 37 assists against the Bears, taking sole possession of sixth place on the Broncos career list in assists with 1,892.
Defensively, freshman Lauren Hamm led the Broncos with 11 digs while sophomore Jeanene Rose tallied 10. Hamm has tallied double-figure digs in every match this season.
The Broncos outblocked their opponents 7.0 to 3.0, with both Maughan and Tamietti posting three blocks each.
The Gonzaga Invitational continues for Boise State Saturday, with matches against No. 8 Washington at 11 a.m. and Gonzaga at 7 p.m.
