Osburn MW Defensive Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Col. - Boise State senior Maddi Osbrun has been named the first Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Week for 2017 as announced today by the league office. Osburn helped guide the Broncos to a 2-1 record at the Sun Devil Classic this past weekend in Tempe, Arizona.

The setter from Nampa, Idaho, was named to the Sun Devil Classic All-Tournament Team after recording a team-high 62 digs for a 6.2 per set average, in addition, she was second in serve receive with 79 receptions while committing only two errors for a .975 percent reception rate.

Osburn’s 62 digs over the weekend moved her from eighth-place on the Boise State career digs list into fourth with 1,279. She is 10 short of tying for third and 212 from the school record.

In the victory over North Dakota State, Osburn tallied a team-best 21 digs and a .973 percent reception rate making one error on 37 attempts.

Osburn also recorded the team-high for digs in the win over Weber State with 25 versus the Wildcats, she was a perfect 1.000 percent on 27 service receptions.

Against Arizona State she was the only Bronco to reach double-digits in digs with a team-high 16, her serve receive percentage was .933 making one error on 15 receptions.
