WHAT IS HAPPENING THIS WEEK

Boise State opens the season on the road at the Sun Devil Classic this Friday and Saturday (Aug. 25-26) where the Broncos will face North Dakota State, Weber State and their host Arizona State. All contests will be played at Wells Fargo Arena on the ASU campus.

NORTH DAKOTA STATE MATCH

(Aug. 25) The Broncos open the season on Friday at 3 p.m. (Mountain) against the North Dakota State Bison. Boise State is 1-0 all-time versus NDSU which place third last year in the Summit League race. NDSU returns three starters, the libero and seven letterwinners. The Bison are picked to place tied for fifth out of eight in this year’s conference race.

WEBER STATE MATCH

(Aug. 26) Boise State is meeting former Big Sky Conference rival Weber State for the 45th time in series history with the Broncos leading the Wildcats 28-16. The first encounter since 2011 is scheduled for 11 a.m. (MT) start on Saturday. Weber State went 14-13 last year and finished ninth of 12 in the Big Sky. They return three starters and six letterwinners in 2017. WSU was picked to place 10th of 12 during the conference race.

TIME CHANGE FOR WEBER STATE

The contest with Weber State has been bumped from 10:30 a.m. (Mountain) to 11 a.m.

ARIZONA STATE MATCH

(Aug. 26) The Blue and Orange closes out the Sun Devil Classic against its host Arizona State at 6 p.m. (MT) on Saturday. Boise State defeated ASU 3-1 in Boise last year to even the series at 1-1. The Sun Devils went 12-20 overall and 5-15 in league during 2016. They have a new coach and return three starters, the libero and eight letterwinners while being picked to place 12th in the 2017 Pac-12 race.
