Eight Questions with Maddy...

Q: Why did you choose Boise State?

A: I chose Boise State for several reasons. I really wanted to go to a school with the “college town” feel. I love that Boise is the type of community that comes together to support Boise State student-athletes. I was most excited about playing for a well-known division one program and that I’d have the opportunity to contribute on the court as a freshman. Boise State has many great things to offer and I love being a Bronco.

Q: What’s been your favorite thing about Boise so far?

A: I love all the activities available in Boise. There’s so much to do relatively close to campus (hiking, boating at nearby lakes, floating the river, etc.) Boise is definitely the college town I was looking for. I love how much school spirit that the locals provide for Boise State athletics.

Q: What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of volleyball?

A: In my free time I enjoy going to the beach, shopping and singing for fun.

Q: Which teammate would win at “America’s Next Top Model”?

A: Coach Garus.

Q: What song gets you pumped up before a match?

A: Don’t Tell Em, by Jeremih.

Q: What is your motto?

A: What’s the worst that could happen.

Q: Who has been the most influential figure in your life so far?

A: My parents have definitely influenced me in many ways. They have been my role models and shown me right from wrong. I am very proud of the person I am today because of the way my parents raised me. They showed me that hard work pays off and to never stop until you reach your goals. I am very blessed to have such strong, successful parents who have provided a very healthy and stable environment for me to grow up in. They have always been my number one fans and main supporters.

Q: Looking to the future, what do you want to do in your life beyond college?

A: After college I see myself going to play volleyball overseas or going back to California and playing competitive sand volleyball. I am hoping to get a great job shortly after college- possibly something in marketing or event planning. I look forward to building a career and one day starting a family.
