Bronco Volleyball Picked Seventh in WAC in 2006 Coaches Preseason Poll.
DENVER, Colo. - In a preseason vote of the Western Athletic Conference volleyball coaches, 10-time defending conference champion Hawaii was picked to win the 2006 conference volleyball title. Boise State, who finished 8-18 in 2005 and 3-13 last year in the WAC, was picked seventh. The 2006 Broncos, under first year head coach Robin Davis, return nine players (eight of which started at in 2005). The Broncos begin two-a-day practice on August 9.

Hawaii received eight of the nine coaches first place votes and received 64 points in the voting process. New Mexico State was picked second with one first place vote and 57 points. Nevada was selected to finish third with 48. Idaho was picked fourth (43). San Jose followed in fifth with 34. Fresno State was sixth with 26. Boise State tallied 22 points in the voting process. Utah State was selected eighth with 20 points. Lousiana Tech was ninth with 10.

The Broncos will begin the 2006 season with a match versus South Carolina on Aug. 25 in the TCU tournament. The Broncos first home match is versus in-state rival Idaho State on Aug. 30 at 7 p.m., in Bronco Gym. A complete 2006 Boise State volleyball schedule follows:
