Boise State Volleyball Announces 2009 Schedule

BOISE, Idaho The Boise State volleyball program and head coach Robin Davis are pleased to announce their 2009 volleyball schedule. The Broncos’ season will be made up of 27 matches, including 12 home matches and 16 Western Athletic Conference regular season matches.


The Broncos kick off their season with the Bronco Invitational Aug. 28-29. The tournament will be a four team round-robin style tournament including Cal State-Northridge, Tulsa, and Northern Arizona along with the Broncos.


From there, Boise State will hit the road for two straight weekends, playing in the Northwest Challenge, hosted by Portland State Sept. 4-5, and the LMU Invitational at Loyola Marymount Sept. 11-12. The Northwest Challenge includes Boise State, Portland State, Gonzaga and Washington while the LMU Invite will include Boise State, LMU, Houston and UC Irvine. The LMU Invitational will be a homecoming for much of the squad, with seven players on the roster hailing from the Southern and Central California areas.


Boise State kicks off their single-match home schedule on Sept. 17 when they host Utah Valley and will begin their WAC schedule on the road at perennial powerhouse Hawaii on Sept. 24. Following the Utah Valley match, the Broncos host each of the eight WAC opponents spanning from Oct. 1-Nov. 14 in their eight remaining home matches. Their 2009 WAC road schedule is slated to begin at Hawaii on Sept. 24 and end with their final regular season match at Idaho on Nov. 19.


The 2009 WAC Championships will be moved to a neutral site landing at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., Nov. 23-25. The tournament will include the top six teams from the regular season standings.
