Boise State's Baugh to Play Volleyball Overseas this Summer

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State’s Sarah Baugh has been selected to represent the Mountain West Conference overseas this summer as apart of the league’s all-star volleyball team. Baugh will be a junior this fall and is one of two setters selected for the squad. She is the second Bronco in the last two years to participate in the European Global Challenge which is held in Pula, Croatia. Last year Katelyn Kinghorn went with a team the was primarily composed of players from the intermountain region of the United States.

The Mountain West All-Star team is made up of 12 student-athletes from eight of the conference’s 11 member schools. The teams represented on this year’s team are Colorado State (2), Fresno State, Nevada, New Mexico (2), San Diego State (3), San Jose State and Wyoming. San Diego State’s head coach Deitre Collins-Parker will serve in the same capacity for this team, while New Mexico assistant J.J. Glavan will assist her.

The twelve Mountain West student-athletes will travel to Venice, Italy, for two days of training sessions and participate in two more days of friendly matches before competing in the 2014 European Global Challenge. From July 13-18, the team will play against junior national teams from throughout Europe including Slovenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Russia, as well as club teams from Italy, Serbia, Austria and Romania. Bring It Promotions, under the ownership of Tim Kelly, is managing the Mountain West all-star trip and has been running the Global Challenge tournament for 10 years.
