Boise State Falls in Three to Colorado State
Harden leads team on Senior Night with eight kills.

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State volleyball fell in three 25-21, 25-7, 25-23 to Colorado State at Bronco Gym in the home finale Saturday night. The Broncos hung with the league's perennial power in two sets but the Rams height and experience was too much for Boise State to over come in the end. Liz Harden led the Broncos with eight kills on the night as Boise State fell to 16-14 overall and 7-7 in conference play.

Harden hit .240 percent on the night to go with her eight kills and five digs. Sarah Webster followed with six kills and three blocks, while Leah Stevens matched Webster's kill total to go with one block. Boise State finished the night hitting .126 percent with 34 kills, 31 assists, three service aces, 30 digs and four blocks.

Colorado State led the entire first set with the Broncos staying close and tying it on three different occasions led by Harden with four of her kills. The Rams eventually closed the set out winning it by four.

The second set saw the Broncos struggle with CSU's height in the loss as the visitors hit .481 in the period to get the win and a 2-0 match advantage.

The third set saw Boise State start strong leading most of the way until late. The Broncos took a seven-point lead, 19-12, but were unable to close it out as Colorado State rallied for the hard fought win 25-23. The set saw five ties and three lead changes.

The Rams finished the night hitting .437 percent with 46 kills, 42 assists, two aces, 51 digs and seven blocks. Dana Cranston led Colorado State with 18 kills and one block, Megan Plourde followed with 10 kills and four blocks.

Boise State will close its final Mountain West campaign and the season this coming week when they travel to UNLV and Fresno State, there is no conference tournament this year. The Boise State program has come a long way over the last four years, the Broncos need one win to clinch its third-consecutive winning season. If they can get that victory this week it would also make the senior class the first group to have three winning seasons during their careers in the last 20 years.
