Broncos Fall at Colorado Sate
FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Boise State's volleyball team fell in three sets Thursday night at Colorado State 25-13, 25-23, 25-16 in a Mountain West match in Fort Collins, Colo. The Broncos saw their three match win streak come to an end with the loss to the Rams. Alyssa Gammel led the blue and orange with 12 kills followed by Brittany Reardon and Liz Harden with five each. Boise State falls to 11-11 on the year with the loss and 3-4 in conference play.

After dropping the opening set by 12 points, the Broncos regrouped in the second set forcing 19 ties and five lead changes before falling 25-23 to the three-time defending MW champion. Boise State hit a match high .333 percent during the second period but came up short against CSU's .394 percent. The final set was dominated by the Rams as well as they defeated the Broncos by nine points for a final match score of 3-0.

Alyssa Gammel led the Broncos hitting .147 percent with 12 kills and four digs, followed by Reardon and Harden with five kills apiece. Casey Rose recorded a team-high 16 assists with Sarah Baugh adding 11 more. Kersti Whitney led the team's defensive effort with a team-best 12 digs.

Boise State finished the night hitting .079 percent with 32 kills, 30 assists, two service aces, 35 digs and one block. Colorado State hit .398 percent with 45 kills, 42 assists, one ace, 49 digs and 13.5 blocks. Brieon Paige led the Rams with 14 kills while hitting .684 percent to go with five blocks. Megan Plourde followed Paige with 10 kills and eight blocks.

Colorado State improved to 12-6 on the year and 5-2 in conference action. The Broncos will continue their road trip Saturday night when they play at Wyoming starting at 7:00 p.m. (Mountain) in Laramie.
