LARAMIE, Wyo. - The Boise State volleyball team lost its opening contest of the weekend falling 3-0 at Wyoming in a Mountain West Conference match in Laramie, Wyo.  Boise State found itself in a hole early dropping the first two sets and could not recover after that losing to the Cowgirls 25-17, 25-20, 26-24. Alyssa Gammel, Brittany Reardon and Sarah Horton all led the Broncos with nine kills apiece. The loss drops Boise State to 8-8 overall and 2-4 in league play. Next up for the Broncos is 13th-ranked and undefeated Colorado State Saturday night in Fort Collins, Colo.  

Boise State found itself in a hole early dropping the first two sets of the night. The opening set was close early with the two teams tied at 11 all when the Cowgirls used a 4-0 run to take control. Wyoming held onto the lead the rest of the way, eventually winning 25-17.

The second set was similar to the first with the Cowgirls slowly pulling away down the stretch, holding the Broncos off for a 25-20 victory and a 2-0 match advantage heading into the break.

Set three saw Boise State rally from a 8-5 deficit with a 6-1 run to take a 11-9 lead. The two teams then traded mini runs as they battled to the end before the Cowgirls rallied past the Broncos for a 26-24 set three win to clinch the match.

Gammel finished the night with nine kills, one assist and five digs. Reardon added nine kills while hitting an impressive 75 percent from the floor. Sarah Horton had nine kills, three digs and one block. Casey Rose dished out 18 assists followed by Sarah Baugh with 12. Hannah Hubbard led in the digs category with 12, followed by Rose with 10 recording her third double-double of the season.

Boise State recorded 37 kills with 36 assists, two service aces, 40 digs and five blocks. Wyoming remains perfect at home (7-0) by hitting 28.4 percent with 50 kills and 45 assists, two aces, 50 digs and eight blocks. Kayla Henderson led the Cowgirls with 11 kills followed by Bridget Shanahan with 10. With the win Wyoming improved to 12-7 overall and 2-3 in MW action.
