LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Sabryn Roberts tallied a team-high 17 kills to lead Boise State to its 18th-straight Mountain West Conference victory with a sweep at UNLV 25-12, 25-22, 25-18 Saturday afternoon. Boise State dominated the match hitting 26.4 percent while holding UNLV to 5.7 percent, the second lowest for a Bronco opponent this year.

The victory extended the Broncos’ current win streak to four straight as they improved to 11-5 overall and 4-0 in MW play to remain tied for first place with Colorado State at the top. That sets up a showed down for first place next Thursday in Boise when 24th-ranked CSU (14-2, 4-0 MW) comes to town. UNLV fell to 4-13 and 0-4 in league with the loss to Boise State.

Boise State opened strong and never trailed in set one. Tied at 5-5, the Broncos seized control rolling off a 14-3 run to cruise to a 13-point victory over the Rebels. Sabryn Roberts led the Broncos in the period with five kills followed by Janell Walley with four.

The two teams traded leads early in the second set before the Broncos surged into the lead. Down two at 10-8, Boise State put together a 6-1 run and never trailed again as the Broncos pulled away from UNLV for the tight three-point victory. Roberts tallied a team-high four kills in the stanza, while Laney Hayes added three kills and three blocks as Boise State held off the Rebels for the set.

The Broncos trailed UNLV 6-3 early in the third period before rolling of a 7-0 run to take control up 10-6. Boise State never trailed again even though it remained close for a while. Up one at 15-14, the blue and orange put it into gear and finished the match on a 10-4 run, which was kick started by three straight Roberts kills who had four in the run. Roberts finished the set with eight kills followed by Walley and Kiley Lewis with five each.

Boise State hit 36.7 percent in the opening set making two hitting errors and 32.5 percent in the third. The Broncos finished the match with 47 kills off 44 assists to go with five service aces, 53 digs and six blocks.

UNLV tallied 24 kills on 24 assists with five service aces, 35 digs and eight blocks.

Player of the Match: Jaymee-Lee Bulda was the player of the match after recording her fourth double-double of the season and the 12th of her career on 37 assists and 17 digs, both team-highs. The senior setter also added four kills and one block to her totals against UNLV.

Bringing the Hammer: Sabryn Roberts has one of the hardest swings on the team and she brought it today recording a team-high 17 kills against UNLV to go with two service aces. The junior outside hitter now has 11 matches this year with double-digit kills and 39 in her career. She finished the night hitting 24.3 percent and had seven digs and two blocks.

Top Hitter: Janell Walley hit a impressive 43.5 percent against UNLV for 12 kills to go with two assists, two service aces, six digs and two blocks. It is Walley’s eighth match this year in double-figure kills.

Anchoring the Wall: Senior middle blocker Laney Hayes has made her impact at the net for Boise State this season leading the team in blocks, she had a career-high nine on Thursday at New Mexico, today Hayes added a team-high four versus UNLV to go with five kills.
