Head coach Shawn Garus on the team . . .

"I was really proud of the team's effort from start to finish. The first set was a little bit streaky on our part, but we had moments were we could say we can hang with this team. The second set we got off to a slow start but then it was a good set from there. When I talked to them in the locker room I loved the vibe of the team. Nobody was settled, no one was saying that it was fine to lose the second set. Maddi Osburn spoke a lot and really stressed a sense of urgency, she said we can beat this team. I feel like that's a big moment for our team, that they feel they can stay on the court with the number one team and play with them. I'm really proud of them."

Garus on the crowd . . .

"I think the vibe on campus has really been growing over the last couple of seasons, not just on campus but in the volleyball community locally as well. We have generated a lot of new fans, they like the high level of intensity the game is played at, they like the venue and they like the level that the team performs at. If our team went out there in front of a big crowd and didn't play hard, didn't fight and didn't compete those fans wouldn't come back. But they are all coming back and we're getting new fans everyday. They're hearing that something special is happening with Boise State volleyball and I'm really proud of that."
