WHAT THEY SAID
Head Coach Shawn Garus in relation to the team’s play against the Wildcats, “I am happy we got good production from a lot of different players in the match. We are going to need a lot of people to contribute again this year if we are going to be successful. The season is young so we have things we need to work on to go with several new players trying to find where they fit in our scheme. Everyone is excited for the match up with ASU tonight.”
Kiley Lewis’ thoughts on the team’s play, “The team came in focused and we were well prepared to take on Weber State. I also thought our response after losing the third set was really good with high energy and determination. My teammates did a good job with picking up balls and setters did a good job connecting with hitters”
Janell Walley on how the team played in the match, “I thought as a team we came in ready to play, but started off a little slow. However, we dominated in the second set and played really steady. The third set we started from behind and weren’t able to come back, but we built momentum towards the end that allowed us to dominate in the fourth set. What I like about the team this year is our composure in stressful situations.”
Player of the Match: Janell Walley is the Broncos’ Player of the Match after recording her first double-double of the season and second all-time on a career-high 11 kills and 15 digs. The sophomore from Yucaipa, Calif., played a key role in the contest for the Broncos including getting the match clinching point in the fourth set.
