Jasper and Jochimsen Conclude Weekend at ASU Thunderbird Invitational

            TEMPE, Ariz. – Boise State women’s tennis players Stephanie Jasper and Bianca Jochimsen traveled to Tempe, Ariz. this past weekend (Nov. 6-8) to compete in the ASU Thunderbird Invitational hosted by Arizona State University.

            Both Jasper and Jochimsen earned first round wins on Friday to advance to the round of 16 in singles play. Jasper opened the tournament with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Sianna Simmons (ASU), while Jochimsen defeated Witney Taney (Michigan) 7-6(4), 6-2. Jasper would lose her second round match to Tania Mahtani (Michigan), 6-4, 6-2, and Jochimsen would fall to Annie Goransson (California), 2-6, 6-1, 6-1, to drop both players to the consolation bracket.

            Jasper and Jochimsen also teamed up in doubles competition, where they would finish with a 1-2 record on the weekend. After dropping their first round match, the duo rebounded with an 8-1 win over Stephanie Chang and Catalina Visico (California) in the consolation bracket. Their weekend would end there, however, as they would lose to Micaela Hein and Nadia Abdala (ASU), 8-4, to fall from the tournament.
