Broncos Travel to Oregon For Duck Invitational

What’s Happening The Boise State University women’s tennis team will travel to Eugene, Ore., to compete in the Duck Invitational, Nov. 8-10, at the Eugene Swim and Tennis Club as well as the Student Tennis Center with play beginning at 9:00 a.m. Friday.


The Field In addition to Boise State representing the Western Athletic Conference, the six-team tournament will feature teams from the Pacific-10 (Oregon, Washington), West Coast Conference (Santa Clara, Portland) and Big Sky (Portland).

The Players The Broncos will suit six players for the tournament including seniors Tiffany Coll and Stacey Housley, sophomores Jana Mackova, Laura Baum and Tatiana Ganzha as well as freshman Bianca Jochimsen.

At the Boise State Invitational, the doubles team of Mackova and Baum went 3-0 while at the ITA Central Regionals the duo advanced to the quarterfinals. In individual play Baum posted a 4-0 mark and Mackova also went 4-0 at the Boise State Invite.

Also posting 4-0 marks in the Boise State Invite were Jochimsen and Coll while Housley went 3-0.

In individual play at the ITA Central Region Championships, Ganzha advanced to the semifinals, proving she is among the top players in the region.

Last Time Out While hosting the Boise State Invitational the Broncos posted a flawless record of 19-0 in singles and a perfect mark of 6-0 in doubles. The team faced WAC opponent Idaho along with Weber State.
