BSU Women's Doubles Team Falls In Day Two of ITA National Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio Boise State tennis players Polina Kokoulina and Pichittra Thongdack competed in day two of four in the 2007 ITA National Intercollegiate Tennis Championships on Friday. The Bronco doubles team fell out of tournament play after going 0-2 in the tournament.

After dropping to Georgia Tech’s No. 3 seeded team on Thursday, the BSU duo advanced to a Friday morning consolation bracket first round match against the No. 1 seeded team of Megan Moulton-Levy and Katarina Zoricic of William and Mary. Also holding the No. 1 NCAA pre-season rank, the William and Mary looked to be a clear favorite in the Friday morning match. The Broncos fought hard, dropping a close 8-6 match to Moulton-Levy and Zoricic. With the loss, the BSU duo has completed their play in the tournament.

The Broncos competed as one of 16 women’s doubles teams at the 2007 ITA National Championships hosted by The Ohio State University from Nov. 1-4.

Kokoulina and Thongdack will reunite with their teammates at the Husky Invitational hosted by Washington, Nov. 9-11.
