Thongdach, Megale Capture Singles and Doubles Title at ITA Mountain Region Championships

LAS VEGAS - Boise State's Pichittra Thongdach proved to be the strongest player of the 2009 Wilson/ITA Division I Women's Mountain Region Championships on Sunday. Thongdach snagged the singles title while also teaming with Lauren Megale to capture the doubles title at the Amanda and Stacy Darling Memorial Tennis Center.

Thongdach and Megale were to face BYU's Megan Price and McCall Jones in the doubles final set for Sunday morning, however the Cougar pair did not show, allowing the Bronco duo to win the title by default.

Thongdach had to work a little harder to capture the singles title, defeating Kristina Nedeltcheva of UNLV in a 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 match.

The Bronco doubles team finished with a 5-0 record on the weekend, while Thongdach produced a 6-0 singles record.

The Boise State women's tennis team concludes their 2009 fall season at the Matador Invitational in Northridge, Calif., Nov. 13-14.
