Thongdach and Megale Advance to ITA Mountain Region Finals in Doubles and Singles

LAS VEGAS - Boise State's Pichittra Thongdach and Lauren Megale advance to the finals of the Wilson/ITA Women's Tennis Mountain Region Championship. The duo advanced to the final round of doubles play after picking up a win on Saturday while Thongdach also picked up a 1-0 record on the day to advance to the singles finals on Sunday at the Amanda and Stacy Darling Memorial Tennis Center.

Thongdach, who is ranked No. 45 in the nation, played tough on Saturday in the singles semifinal round, defeating Melisa Esposito (Colorado) 7-5, 6-2 to advance to the finals. The Boise State senior, who is the No. 1 seed in the tournament, will face No. 2-seeded Kristina Nedeltcheva (UNLV) on Sunday.

Thongdach paired with Megale as the No. 37-ranked team in the nation and No. 2-seed in the tournament. The duo battled to an 8-6 win over No. 4-seed Jana Albers and Nedeltcheva of UNLV to advance to the final round.

Thongdach and Megale will finish the tournament on Sunday with a 10 a.m. (MT) doubles finals match and a 1 p.m. (MT) singles finals.
