Toseva and Vosburgh Advance at USTA/ITA Regional

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Boise State’s women’s tennis team saw Teal Vosburgh and Milena Toseva advance in singles at the USTA/ITA Women’s Mountain Region Championships Wednesday afternoon at Albuquerque, N.M. Both Broncos recorded straight-set victories to lead Boise State Wednesday.
Vosburgh easily defeated New Mexico State’s Marie-Pier Thiffault 6-3, 6-0 to advance to Thursday’s round of 64 against Utah’s Victoria Robertson.  
Toseva also moved into the second round of the regional when she downed UTEP’s Daphne Visscher in two sets 7-5, 6-3. The sophomore from Stuttgart, Germany, will faced another Ute on Thursday in Utah’s Tereza Bekerova.  

Boise State’s Megan LaLone and Arianna Paules Aldrey both lost hard fought three-set matches. LaLone was defeated by Livia Hollosy from Northern Arizona 2-6, 6-2, 6-4. While Paules Aldrey fell to Idaho’s Lucia Badillos 6-3, 1-6, 7-6. Both will move into the back draw on Thursday, their opponents have not been announced.  
All four Broncos will be competing in the doubles competition. On Wednesday Toseva and Paules Aldrey played in the round of 64 where they fell in a tie-break 8-7. Vosburgh and LaLone were seeded sixth entering the tournament and received a bye into the round of 32 on Thursday when they will face Wyoming’s Christa Gecheva and Jessica Parizher.
