Megale Drops from Singles Action at All-American Tournament

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Tuesday (Oct. 5) proved to be a tough day of competition for Boise State senior Lauren Megale at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif., as Megale dropped her first two matches of qualifying to end her week.

Megale opened her day with a tough first-round match against Emily Fraser of the University of Virginia. Despite a hard fought effort, Fraser managed a straight set victory (6-4, 6-1) to drop Megale to consolation action. Fortune wouldn't turn any more favorable from there, as Megale would fall to Zara Harutyunyan (Akron), 6-4, 6-1, to end her run at the competition.

With the losses, Megale falls to 3-4 in singles this fall. Boise State is off the court this week in preparation for a run at the ITA Mountain Region Championships in Las Vegas, Nev., Oct. 13-17.
