Boise State Goes 5-1 in Doubles to Open Utah State Invite

LOGAN, Utah - Boise State’s doubles teams were the story on the first day of the Utah State Invite as the Broncos went a combined 5-1 against Montana State and Weber State in Logan, Utah. Megan LaLone and Teal Vosburgh recorded a 1-1 record on the day, while Arianna Paules Aldrey, Sammie Watson, Bobbi Oshiro and Naomi de Hart switched things up, exchanging partners, in between the two doubles sessions going a combined 4-0. 
 
The Broncos opened the day playing doubles against the Montana State Bobcats sweeping all three contests. LaLone and Vosburgh downed Laura Middel and Naomi Holopainen with a quick 8-0 sweep. In the second doubles session of the day versus Weber State the junior tandem was knocked off by the Wildcats duo of Kristi Elmer and Agata Bachanek 8-4. 
 
In the morning doubles session versus MSU, Paules Aldrey and Oshiro downed Jess Brycki and Wanda Holopainen 8-1. Shortly after Watson and de Hart tallied a 8-3 victory over Molly Crum and Liana Bates. At the same time of the Montana State vs Boise State doubles matches, Boise State’s Kaitlyn Brown teamed up with BYU’s Demi Daniels to defeat Weber State’s team of Emily Tanner and Megan Rindlisbacher by a 8-6 score. 
 
Friday afternoon versus Weber State the two pairs switched partners with Oshiro and Watson taking on Dominique Beauvais and Lauren Schulte recording an easy 8-0 win. Meanwhile, Paules Aldrey and de Hart put away the Wildcats’ tandem of Emily Tanner and Megan Rindlisbacher by an 8-3 victory margin. 
 
In between the two doubles sessions on Friday the Broncos played Brigham Young in singles. The schools played four matches tallying a split at 2-2. Earning victories for Boise State were Bobbi Oshiro who defeated Brittanie Eraso 6-0, 6-1. Joining Oshiro in the victory column was de Hart who downed Demi Daniels 6-3, 7-6 (4). 
 
Boise State’s Paule Aldrey took on BYU’s Savannah Ware falling in three sets 6-2, 6-7 (6), 6-1. LaLone also played against the Cougars facing Morgan Littlewood, she fell in straight sets 7-6 (3), 6-2.
