Broncos Wrap-Up Second Day of Jack Taylor Classic

            BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State women’s tennis team stumbled on day-two of the Jack Taylor Classic, finishing 0-1 in doubles and 0-4 in singles in Saturday’s (Oct. 3) action at the Appleton Tennis Center.

            In doubles, Boise State played just one match as Rocio Frej and Marlena Pietzuch took on Ksenia Googe and Marina Nicholas of Washington State. Despite a hard fought contest, Frej and Pietzuch fell in a tiebreaker, 9-8 (11).

            In singles, No. 47 ranked Pichittra Thongdach suffered an upset against Luda Vasilieva (WSU), 6-4, 6-3. Pietzuch and Bianca Jochimsen would fall not long after, as Pietzuch was defeated by Liz Fournier of Washington State, 6-0, 7-5, and Jochimsen lost to Ekaterina Kamendova (WSU), 6-2, 6-0. Boise State’s final loss of the day would come as Stephanie Jasper fell to Marina Nicholas (WSU), 7-6, 6-3.

            The Jack Taylor Classic will conclude on Sunday, with all matches being moved to the BOAS Indoor Tennis Complex. Doubles competition is scheduled to start at approximately 9 a.m., which will be followed by singles matches starting at around 10:15 a.m.
