Broncos Wrap Up Jack Taylor Classic

BOISE, Idaho-Boise State women's tennis sophomore Morgan Basil led the Broncos on the final day of the Jack Taylor Classic, Sunday, at the Appleton Tennis Center. Basil won the consolation finals of the Blue Flight Singles and added a doubles win to close out the weekend event.

Junior Marlena Pietzuch played for championships in singles and doubles. Pietzuch lost to New Mexico's Michaela Bezdickova in the Blue Flight Singles final before teaming up with her sister, Manuela, in the doubles final. Again, she met Bezdickova who was paired with Alyssa Caffey, the winner of the Orange Flight Singles championship. The Lobo duo scored an 8-6 decision in a back-and-forth affair to grab their second title of the weekend each.

Basil joined fellow sophomore Sandy Vo to win a doubles match against Kristin Eggleston and Laura Richardson of New Mexico, 8-4.

Senior Sonia Klamczynska and freshman Kaitlyn Brown also took the court in doubles action. The duo lost 8-3, in a match against Nikolina Grbac and Susanna Kuuttila from New Mexico.

The Broncos are back in action Oct. 12-16, at the ITA Regional Championships in Las Vegas.
