Bronco Women's Tennis to Host Jack Taylor Invitational

BOISE, Idaho The Boise State women’s tennis team is set to open their 2008-09 home season this weekend by hosting the Jack Taylor Invitational from Fri., Oct. 3 through Sun., Oct. 5. The Jack Taylor Invitational will be played as an individual tournament with competitors in the singles and doubles competitions from Boise State University, University of Utah, University of New Mexico, and Washington State University. The tournament will be held outdoors at the Appleton Tennis Center on the campus of Boise State University.

New Mexico’s Ola Abou Zekry is the only one player to hold a national ITA preseason ranking, sitting at No. 103 in the singles rankings. As a team, New Mexico finished the 2007-08 season ranked No. 51. Washington State finished the 2007-08 season ranked No. 43 as a team, the highest ranked team entering the Jack Taylor Invite. Boise State finished last season ranked No. 46 while Utah finished the season at No. 54.

The Jack Taylor Invitational will begin with doubles play at 9:30 am on Friday. Doubles competition will be played all day Friday while singles play will be played on Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 9:30 am both days.
