Two of a Kind

Provo, Utah- The doubles team of junior Polina Kokoulina and Tatiana Ganzha continued to show what great teamwork can accomplish.  The two members of the Boise State women’s tennis team advanced to the finals of the Brigham Young Invitational Friday, by defeating Utah’s Liz Ferris and Leigh Walsh, 8-1. 


In the finals they faced the bracket’s one seed, Anastasia Surkova and Jenny Miccoli of BYU and lost 8-5.


Thursday the tandem knocked off the third seed from Washington State University to reach the quarterfinals.


Tiffany Coll and Laura Baum also reached the semi-finals in doubles play by defeating Utah State’s Breanna Harris and Bridgette Strickland, 8-4. 


In singles play, Stacey Housley reached the semi-finals by defeating Rana El Derwy of BYU, 6-2 and 6-1.  She then faced Cheyenne Reveche of Utah but lost, 7-5 and 6-2.
