Megale and Jasper Compete at Midland Tournament

MIDLAND, Texas - Boise State women's tennis players Lauren Megale and Stephanie Jasper officially kicked-off their individual fall schedules this past weekend, Sept. 18-19, as the Bronco duo traveled to Midland, Texas to compete in the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational.

Megale and Jasper both competed in singles, while also teaming up to play in the doubles tournament. In doubles, the pair of seniors earned an opening round win before falling from the tournament with a second round loss. Their win came in decisive fashion, 8-0, over Denisa Zobeideh and Fernanda Perrotta of Penn State.

Singles wouldn't go much better for Megale or Jasper, as both finished 1-1 in bracket play. Megale won her first match against Janine Weinreich of Nebraska, 6-3, 6-4, before falling to Rebekka Hanle of Rice, 6-2, 7-6.

Jasper opened single competition with a 7-5, 1-6, 10-8 win over Kaltrina Harbuzi (Lamar) before falling to Janelle Cuthbertson (Texas A&M) 6-3, 4-6, 10-6. Jasper would play two more exhibition matches, both of which resulted in wins. She first recorded a 6-4, 6-7, 10-6 win over Sandra Dynka of Texas Tech, before beating Maria Prishlyak of Penn State, 6-3, 6-1.
